About the Role
About Congressional Country Club
Potomac, MD | It all began in 1921, a vision of our Founders Congressman Oscar Bland and O.R. Luhring. Their vision, to create a Club where members of Congress could talk business, was taken to Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover, who fully supported the idea. In 1924 Congressional opened its doors. Five Presidents of the United States, the Rockefeller’s, Carnegie’s, DuPont’s, Astor’s, Lombardi’s and many other captains of industry have been Members of the Club.
Our story is connected to the nation, our military with the OSS, and what’s best about the game of golf. Congressional’ s original purpose has been transformed to that of a family club with world class values and facilities. We are the #1 Platinum Country Club in the World.
Our reputation is rooted in championship golf. We have hosted numerous championships, including the 1976 PGA Championship, 2022 Women’s PGA Championship, 1995 & 2025 Senior PGA Championships and 1964, 1997 & 2011 US Opens.
Congressional continues to thrive with strong leadership, a vision towards the future and a membership and staff that are dedicated to the world class values and traditions the iconic Clubs of the country hold close. The Club will be hosting multiple Major Championships in the next 11 years, including the 2030 PGA Championship and 2037 Ryder Cup.
Director of Golf & Athletics Jason Epstein is entering his 11th season. Jason has built a team first culture of excellence, learning, accountability and professionalism. Jason has won numerous awards (including the 2015 Merchandiser of the Year and 2025 Bill Strausbaugh National Awards), has been a part of multiple section and national committees, is dedicated to the development of his team and serves as an Ambassador Trustee for PGA REACH. The Club’s reputation for developing and progressing the careers of golf professionals is well documented.
