Company Description The Turn Performance Golf Club is a 6,000 sq ft fitness and golf facility that brings training, recovery, and play together under one roof. Designed for golfers of all levels, it features a full performance gym, four indoor hitting bays, and a dedicated team of PGA professionals, TPI-certified trainers, and recovery specialists. The Turn emphasizes a lifestyle and community approach, fostering an environment where players can improve their game and overall fitness. Members train hard, recover effectively, and connect with others who share a passion for golf, often staying for social events and happy hours.
Role Description The Strength and Conditioning Trainer (Golf) is a full-time, on-site role based in Dublin, CA. This role focuses on designing and delivering golf-specific strength and conditioning programs that enhance performance, mobility, and injury prevention for players of varying skill levels, including juniors and adults. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting individual and small-group training sessions, performing movement and performance assessments, collaborating with PGA pros and recovery specialists on integrated training plans, and monitoring client progress. The trainer will also provide guidance on proper use of fitness and golf-related equipment, maintain a safe and inclusive training environment, and contribute to member engagement within The Turn’s community-oriented culture.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct golf-specific fitness assessments, including mobility, stability, strength, and power testing.Design and deliver personalized golf fitness training programs focused on improving swing speed, distance, accuracy, and durability.Lead one-on-one golf fitness sessions, semi-private groups, and small group golf performance classes.Teach proper movement patterns, rotational mechanics, and sport-specific exercises that directly transfer to the golf swing.Collaborate with local golf instructors and club professionals to provide a complete performance solution for clients.Educate clients on golf-specific mobility routines, warm-ups, recovery strategies, and injury prevention.Help golfers reduce common injuries (lower back, shoulders, hips, and wrists).Maintain a high-energy, professional, and results-oriented training environment.Administrative & Facility Support
Requirements
Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, ISSA, or equivalent)Golf Fitness Certification strongly preferred (Titleist Performance Institute – TPI, or similar golf-specific certification)CPR/AED certification – required1–2+ years of experience training golfers or athletes preferredStrong understanding of golf swing mechanics and how physical limitations affect swing performance preferred Excellent knowledge of functional movement, rotational power training, core stability, and mobility workOutstanding coaching and communication skillsAbility to motivate clients and build long-term relationshipsProfessional appearance and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
TPI Certified (Level 1 or higher) – highly desiredAdditional certifications in Strength & Conditioning, Corrective Exercise, or Mobility TrainingExperience working with golfers of varying ages and abilities (juniors, adults, seniors)Background in golf, collegiate athletics, or sports performance trainingBasic understanding of Foresight, Swing Catalyst, or other launch monitor technology
Compensation & Benefits
· Pay Structure: $40 per hour for all direct training and coaching time; $20 per hour for administrative and non-training tasks.
· Benefits: Eligible for company benefits package after successful completion of probationary period and consistent 30+ hours per week
