Swim Coach

The Rumson Country Club is looking for a Swim Coach/ Instructor for our busy upcoming summer season. The position will begin June 22nd and go through July 23rd 2026. Compensation: $35 P/h- $40 p/h depending on experience Required Job Specifications: • Our team values experience, particularly a minimum of 2 years providing swim instruction to students of any age. • This position requires candidates to have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. • This role thrives with professionals who can demonstrate superb communication abilities. • Have an energetic, fun personality when working with children. • This role is a great fit for those who excel and feel confident working independently. Hours Monday, Tuessday, Thursday 3:00pm – 5:00pm 3 sections 30 min 30min 1 hour Responsibilities Coach • Coach and lead practices based on the needs of the age group and individual swimmers. • Guides athletes in their assigned age-group with short and long term goal setting. • Create swim meet entries for athletes in assigned group. • Attend all swim meets that age-group is participating in. If unable to attend, arrange appropriate coaching and communicate to all necessary parties. • Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately. • Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool. • Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff. Instructor • Conduct private (1-1) and small group swim lessons. • Schedule swim lessons with flexibility. • Create custom lesson tailored to each student's ability and learning style. • Assess student's skills, monitor student's progress and adapt lessons to meet student's & clients needs. • Provide a fun, full and tracked learning experience for our students & clients. • Ensure safety of the student at all times. • Communicate with parents, clients or caregivers about your students' progress.
