About the Role
Position Overview
The Greenskeeper I, under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent or assigned Supervisor, performs work involving the use and proper operation of greens, fairway, rough units, tractors, triplex mowers, and groomers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Proper operation of triplex mowers for tees, greens, collars and approaches.
Uses groomers, rollers and turf vac with proficiency.
Mows fairways and rough with gang units.
Spot spray, set up and change cups.
Operate a chainsaw.
Uses diligence in equipment operation to minimize equipment failure or breakage.
Reports malfunctioning or broken equipment immediately to Head Shop Mechanic.
Returns equipment to designated location cleaned and refueled.
Uses/wears appropriate safety gear when operating equipment.
May be required to perform hard labor such as digging and/or routine lifting of more than 10 pounds. The occasional lifting of more than 40 pounds will be required.
Report any equipment problems or course irregularities to his Supervisor or the Assistant Superintendent.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Credentials and Experience
Requires knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors, mowers and other mechanized equipment.
Must be able to follow oral and written direction.
Must be able to meet physical demands of position as outlined below.
