III. Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to gain knowledge of the golf course turf industry. You will work closely with the Grounds Management Team and assist them in the daily planning and execution of all turf related aspects.
IV. Primary Responsibilities
Student Interns must be detail orientated, dependable, and accountable, possess a high degree of integrity, and have a willingness to learn. Student Interns will be responsible for and / or assist in all aspects of golf course management, including but not limited to:
Hand watering of all turf areasMowing of all turf areasRegular bunker repair and maintenanceGolf course set-upImplementation of cultural practicesFertilizer and Pesticide calibration and applicationIrrigation troubleshooting and maintenanceEquipment operationSmall crew leadership opportunitiesExposure to small equipment repair and maintenanceRequirements
V. Educational Requirements
Student Interns must be enrolled in a certificate, 2 or 4-year degree in a turf management related field.

VII. Special Requirements:
He or she must have reliable transportation to and from workRequires ability to safely operate trucks and motorized equipment
VIII. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Student Interns will be required to:
Work extended hours, which includes weekend and holiday shiftsWork outside in all weather conditionsWork on or near heavy machineryStand for extended periods of timeLift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basisDo repetitive tasks with few breaksComplete tasks in a timely manner
