About the Role
TriRiver Water is the name and brand by which the City of Sanford will provide water and sewer utility services on a regional basis. TriRiver will deliver high-quality water and wastewater services that not only cater to the needs of the present, but also the demands of the future. This position stems from a recent merger by the City of Sanford that will significantly expand our reach and influence in the industry. The UMI will work in our City of Sanford, Pittsboro, Chatham and Siler City locations assisting customers to perform the following duties:
Maintaining and repairing water filtration and/or water reclamation plant equipment, storage tanks and pump and lift stations; assisting with****the installation of equipment; operating a treatment plant.
Conducts tours of plant/system and ensures all mechanical equipment is operating properly.
Uses hand, bench and machine tools in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, valves and other plant machinery and equipment used for water filtration or water reclamation treatment; tests performance; reads meters and gauges.
Performs preventive maintenance such as checking and lubricating bearings and gear boxes, checking and replacing filters, checking packing temperatures, maintaining pump valves, blowers, screens, generators, etc.
Inspects, maintains and repairs pump and lift stations and storage tanks.
Maintains, repairs and adjusts telemetry and alarm systems.
Washes and cleans pump and lift stations; maintains grounds.
Operates the treatment plant when required; performs duties of treatment plant operator.
Cleans and paints plant equipment; keeps plant neat and clean.
Performs related tasks as required.

Qualifications
We are looking for a detailed individual who possesses general knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools and materials of the electrical and mechanical trades; general knowledge of welding and related mechanical trades operations; general knowledge of the installation, repair and maintenance of the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components of pump stations and water filtration and water reclamation treatment plant equipment; general knowledge in reading and interpreting blue prints, diagrams, electrical schematics, and various manuals; general knowledge in preparing reports and maintaining records; general knowledge of the occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions of the work; general knowledge in the use of standard office equipment and associated software; skill in the use and care of the tools of the trade; ability to determine improper operation of pump station and treatment plant equipment, and to take proper remedial action; ability to observe and enforce appropriate safety precautions; ability to carry out difficult oral and written instructions; ability to make arithme
