About this role: The Manager, Championships focuses on outside the ropes operations, including rules operations and administration, of the U.S. Senior Women's Open & U.S. Senior Women's Amateur. This role also serves at other USGA championships/allied organization competitions as assigned, and supports other Championship department projects. What you'll do: Championship Manager for U.S. Senior Women's Amateur: Lead all operational duties on-site at the championship Conduct advance future site visits assist with management of championship budgets Outside the Ropes Duties: Manage the Championship Office and serve as the point of contact for all attendees Coordinate operational efforts for the championship, including but not limited to food and beverage, volunteers, signage, driving range, transportation, on course operations, host club gifts, preparation of hosting manuals Serve as the primary contact for the Host Committee and Club Staff, Future Sites Attendees, and Vendors Responsible for negotiating hotel agreements and managing the hotel block Work closely with Communications and Marketing staff on creating signage and other creative materials to promote the championship Responsible for shipping all championship related equipment to the championship site Work closely with Championship Administration in managing major championship equipment to ensure it is sent to the correct locations Serves as point of contact for players and lead all player services efforts, including player registration; pre-championship and on-site, practice round sign-ups, player hospitality areas, player social function details, player gifting, and post championship player surveys Archive relevant documents for museum and historical purposes Inside the Ropes Duties: In collaboration with the Championship Director, work closely with Regional Affairs on championship invitations/assignments/needs Serve as the main point of contact for rules officials and their championship-week logistics Support Championship Director with tasks as requested such as hole locations, course marking, pace of play preparation and Rules documentation Championship Manager for the U.S. Senior Women's Open: Serve as main point of contact for Rules Officials/Invited Allied Officials and manage Rules Official registration and communication, transportation, uniforms and accommodations; Manage on-stie rules office; assist with Rules Committee-related activities, including rules meeting; social functions/dinners Work closely with Championship Director on Rules Officials experience including hospitality and gifts Order and manage championship-related equipment and supplies and distribution on site at championship Archive relevant documents for museum and historical purposes Serve as liaison between rules staff and operational staff Assist Championship Director with inside the ropes tasks and advance site visit course work, including but not limited to golf course set-up planning, pace of play and hole location work Assist in the conduct of other USGA Championships: Course marking; course set-up; serving as a referee, formulations of championship-related rules items; pace of play management, serving as support in championship office Assist with various projects assigned, including task forces and working groups to improve championship best practices Where you'll be: This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are required to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office community days. Employees can choose between Monday or Thursday as their third in-office day. Travel is expected for this role - approximately 80-100 days a year. What you bring: Bachelor's degree or equivalent 4+ years of experience in golf administration or a related field preferred Demonstrated ability in golf tournament administration (both inside and outside the ropes) at the national, state, or regional level is preferred Working knowledge of the Rules of Golf and experience with course setup and marking (score of 90 or higher on PGA/USGA Rules Exam preferred) Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor in working with host clubs, committees, and vendors Unquestioned character and integrity Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail A collaborative spirit, strong communication skills (written and verbal), and a service-oriented mindset Comfort with public speaking and working in fast-paced championship environments Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning internal platforms and systems Willingness and ability to travel frequently Level: Manager Job Location: Liberty Corner, NJ Salary Range: $68,000 - $78,000 The annual base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $78,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications.
