Role Description The Pro Shop Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at the Field Club of Greenwich in Greenwich, CT. This role supports daily operations of the pro shop, including greeting members and guests, answering inquiries, and providing information about services, programs, and merchandise. Responsibilities include processing sales transactions, maintaining organized and appealing merchandise displays, managing inventory, and assisting with equipment rentals or reservations. The Pro Shop Assistant helps coordinate member bookings for lessons or court times, supports event preparation, and communicates regularly with coaches and other staff. The role also involves maintaining a clean, orderly shop environment and ensuring a professional, service-oriented experience for all members.
Qualifications
Customer service and interpersonal skills to engage respectfully with members, guests, and colleagues.Basic sales, point-of-sale (POS), and cash-handling skills to process transactions accurately.Organizational and time-management abilities to handle inventory, reservations, and day-to-day shop tasks.Communication skills, including clear verbal communication and professional email or phone etiquette.Interest in recreational sports or club environments; prior pro shop, retail, or hospitality experience preferred.Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move merchandise or equipment as needed, and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications in hospitality, sports management, or related fields are a plus.
