JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Golf Job Type: Part-Time Pay Type: Hourly Starting Pay Rate: $13–$15 per hour, based on experience Direct Supervisor: Head Golf Professional JOB SUMMARY The Golf Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Golf Pro Shop while delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests. This position plays a key role in promoting the game of golf and ensuring a positive and professional experience at Fawn Lake Country Club. This role may provide limited supervision to outside service staff and works under the direction of the Golf Shop Manager, Assistant Golf Professional, Outside Service Manager, Head Golf Professional, and General Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner Register golfers and assist with tee time scheduling Support tournaments, outings, and promotional golf events Process payments for green fees, cart rentals, and merchandise Maintain accurate cash handling and point-of-sale transactions Assist in the daily operations and overall presentation of the Pro Shop Provide information regarding club facilities, services, golf rules, and etiquette Monitor pace of play and assist with resolving on-course or guest-related issues Enforce club policies regarding dress code, equipment, and course rules Assist with staging, cleaning, and maintaining golf carts, ensuring they are properly charged and in good condition Report any cart damage or maintenance concerns promptly Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pro Shop, cart barn, restrooms, golf course areas, and parking lot Assist with inventory management, including receiving, pricing, stocking, and merchandising retail items Support special orders and maintain accurate inventory records in the point-of-sale system Maintain security of golf course property, equipment, and facilities Utilize available systems and tools to monitor golfer activity and equipment usage Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Professional demeanor with a positive and team-oriented attitude Ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, and staff Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale systems Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Reliable, punctual, and dependable PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 30 pounds Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or customer service Basic knowledge of golf operations, rules, and etiquette Experience working in a golf course or private club environment AVAILABILITYMust be available to work on a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, unless otherwise agreed upon at the time of hire.BENEFITS Weekly complimentary or discounted golf course access and complimentary driving range access (as outlined in the Employee Handbook) 50% discount on regularly priced meals in the Lakeside Grille during scheduled shifts Staff uniforms provided Golf Shop retail discounts (items available for purchase at 10% above cost) WORK LOCATIONIn person – Fawn Lake Country Club, Spotsylvania, VAApply TodayIf you are passionate about delivering exceptional service and want to be part of a high-performing team, we encourage you to apply and join the Fawn Lake experience.
