Capital City Club Brookhaven is searching for a driven and team oriented Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join a highly respected agronomy team in Atlanta, Georgia. Club Highlights
Total annual rounds: Average of 35,000Total staff: 18 full-time (Nov-Feb), 28 full-time (Mar-Oct) not including management/techniciansTypical work schedule: Alternating weekend schedule with one 3-day weekend every other week.Weekly hours range from 44-46 in cooler months to mid/upper 50s in summer.Closed half day on Mondays to allow for focused project work.Turf types: A1 Bentgrass greens, Zorro zoysia tees and fairways, 419 bermudagrass roughsFuture projects: Ongoing drainage, stream bank work, and in-house projectsIrrigation system: Toro OsmacEquipment: Predominantly John Deere, purchased (6 years old; fleet replaced every 7 years)

Key Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, And Aptitude
Assist in daily maintenance planning, crew supervision, and trainingResponsible for irrigation system repairs, maintenance, scheduling, and inventoryAssist with and execute fertilizer and pesticide applications, including calibration and record-keepingMonitor and enforce safety procedures and Club policiesMaintain knowledge of equipment and turfgrass maintenance practicesRecord and report weather, irrigation, and chemical application dataServe as acting Assistant Superintendent in their absence
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Turfgrass Management or related field (preferred)Minimum of one year experience on a golf course with bentgrass greensKnowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization/pesticide applications, and golf course operationsGeorgia pesticide license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)Valid Georgia driver’s licenseUnderstanding of golf and etiquetteAbility to lift 50 poundsWillingness to present education and career goals annually
Compensation & Benefits
$21.00 – $22.00+ per hour, depending on experience.
