Chambersburg Country Club is a private 18-hole golf club located in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The course measures approximately 6,962 yards and features Bent/Poa greens, Bentgrass tees, and Bent/Rye/Poa fairways.
The club has made significant recent investments in the golf course, including a brand-new Rain Bird irrigation system installed in 2023–2024 and newly renovated teeing grounds completed in 2024.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our Grounds Department and work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent in maintaining the golf course and surrounding club grounds.
Position Summary
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will assist the Golf Course Superintendent with the daily maintenance and care of the golf course, clubhouse grounds, trees and shrubbery, tennis courts, equipment, and other property maintenance responsibilities.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with golf course maintenance experience and a background in turf management who is looking to continue developing their skills in a private-club environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily golf course maintenance and grounds operations.
Maintain clubhouse lawns and surrounding grounds.
Assist with the care and maintenance of trees and shrubbery.
Assist with tennis court maintenance.
Perform pesticide applications in accordance with applicable requirements.
Assist with golf course and grounds equipment maintenance.
Assist with clubhouse building maintenance.
Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to maintain the property to a high standard.
Support the overall daily operations of the Grounds Department.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of golf course maintenance experience.
Certificate in Turf Management preferred/required.
Ability to obtain Pennsylvania Pesticide Certification.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively as part of a grounds maintenance team.
Interest in continued professional development within the golf course maintenance industry.
