About this role:
We’re looking for a dynamic, creative and knowledgeable marketer who’s energized about the opportunity to help the USGA connect with our fans and stakeholders. Reporting to the Head of Brand & Marketing, the Assistant Director, Marketing, USGA Brands will act as the Marketing account lead for our internal business units including Handicapping, GHIN, Green Section and Rules. They will be the day-to-day contact with senior leads in these businesses, devising marketing strategy for business growth. In turn, they will work with the rest of the Marketing and Creative teams to bring this marketing strategy to life by executing the plans on a yearly basis. This person will be instrumental in bringing the USGA pillar strategy to life within these businesses.
What you'll do:
Serve as the main point of contact / Account Director for programs and initiatives under the USGA pillars of Unify, Govern and Advance, including but not limited to Handicapping, GHIN, Rules, and Green Section, including day-to-day project management of both internal constituents and agency partners to garner approvals and meet key milestones, and to produce and promote the brands' platforms.
Drive business under the USGA pillars of Unify, Govern and Advance through a concerted brand process and subsequent integrated brand campaigns to deliver on organizational revenue goals and awareness aspirations.
Bring to market the subsequent campaigns with an integrated marketing strategy and goal of garnering positive sentiment amongst golfers and golf businesses, and assisting each USGA business in meeting yearly revenue goals.
Serve as brand steward for the USGA and our house of brands to ensure each delivers a consistent visual, verbal and environmental experience for all consumers.
Partner with Marketing Media and Creative teams to ensure the USGA brands are brought to life in an engaging and positive way - writing creative briefs that allow the internal and external Creative teams to produce work consistent with the USGA brand guidelines, and bringing paid campaign to market that will increase visibility and grow revenues.
Work with the Fan Experience & Events team to assist in programming that brings these internal brands to life by engaging fans, acquiring and converting consumers.
Manage Assistant Manager, Marketing and other junior associates and interns to deliver on Marketing objectives.
Support the Head of Brand & Marketing raising the department's profile during a time of marketing transformation.
Where you'll be:
This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. There is a travel component to this role - approximately 25%.
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.
5+ years' experience in Marketing Management.
2+ year's experience working on the business side of golf, i.e. in course agronomy, sustainable solutions, golf professional, etc.
An understanding and appreciation for the game of golf, competition, sport, and being an authentically mission and values-driven person.
Direct management experience is a plus.
Strong communication, creative, and interpersonal skills.
