DescriptionBenefitsPosition Purpose/Summary

This is seasonal, part-time work in the maintenance of the City's golf courses. Work is performed under supervision, in accordance with standard practices and procedures. No supervision is exercised over other employees.

This posting is for positions at both the Veterans Memorial Golf Course and Franconia Golf Course.

Essential Functions

Maintains golf courses by cutting grass, tees, fairways and greensPlants and transplants flowers; weeds and waters flower bedsPicks up trash and empties trash binsCleans machinery and toolsPerforms related work as requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, equipment, and processes and techniques of the work performedConsiderable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in work performedAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and facility usersAbility to understand and follow written and oral instructionsSkill in the use and care of tools, equipment, and materials employed in the work performedEducation and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferredOne year experience in golf course or similar maintenance preferredNOTICE: The following benefits are contingent upon hours worked and bargaining vs. non-bargaining agreements.

Paid Vacation

Bargaining unit positions are subject to contractual obligations.

All City employees receive 11 paid holidays per year.

Paid Sick Time

Full time employees are immediately eligible to begin accruing 1 1/4 days per month which can be taken after 6 months of service. Unused sick days can be rolled over to subsequent calendar years. Supplemental Long Term and Short disability coverage is available to employees at the employee cost.

Paid Personal Days

Use up to 3 of your accrued sick days as Personal days. Personal days cannot be rolled over into the next calendar year.
