Overview: The Assistant Golf Pro at Boca West Country Club is responsible for delivering exceptional member service, facilitating golf operations, and supporting the overall golf program. This role involves providing instruction, managing tee times, assisting with tournaments, and ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for members and guests. The Golf Professional is dedicated to promoting the game of golf, fostering a positive atmosphere, and upholding the club's standards of excellence and integrity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Member & Guest Service
• Provide personalized, attentive service to members and guests, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and courtesy.
• Assist with reservations, tee time management, and member inquiries, ensuring efficient and friendly interactions.
• Foster strong relationships with members, understanding their preferences and enhancing their overall experience.
Golf Operations & Course Management
• Oversee daily golf operations, including tee sheet management, pace of play, and course etiquette enforcement.
• Coordinate with the grounds crew regarding course conditions and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure all safety protocols and club policies are followed on the course and in the clubhouse.
Golf Instruction & Player Development
• Deliver high-quality golf lessons, clinics, and group instruction tailored to members' skill levels.
• Support member and guest development initiatives to promote skill improvement and enjoyment of the game.
• Track and evaluate player progress, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
Tournament & Event Support
• Assist in planning and executing golf tournaments, member outings, and special events.
• Coordinate logistics such as scoring, on-course support, and awards ceremonies.
• Promote member participation and ensure events run smoothly and professionally.
Pro Shop & Retail Support
• Support retail sales through product knowledge, merchandising, and customer service.
• Assist with inventory management and promotional displays to maximize revenue.
• Maintain a clean and organized pro shop environment.
Staff Collaboration & Leadership
• Collaborate with other golf staff and management to ensure seamless operations.
• Support junior staff and assistants, providing guidance and mentorship when appropriate.
• Uphold the club's standards of professionalism, integrity, and service excellence.
Administrative & Reporting Tasks
• Maintain accurate records of lessons, member interactions, and tournament results.
• Assist with scheduling, billing, and reporting as needed.
• Support club marketing efforts to promote golf programs and activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members to ensure high standards of service, professionalism, and operational excellence.
• Assisting in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff to foster a knowledgeable and motivated team.
• Monitoring staff performance through regular feedback and evaluations, ensuring adherence to club policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Delegating tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Promoting a positive work environment encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensuring all staff members understand and comply with club policies, PGA regulations, and safety protocols.
• Assisting in scheduling staff shifts and managing labor costs in coordination with the Director of Golf or Head Professional.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
• PGA Class A Member or equivalent professional certification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a private club or resort environment.
• Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, instruction techniques, and course management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with golf management software, POS systems, and instructional technology.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate golf carts and related equipment.
