This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated equipment technician who is ready to step up from a #2 mechanic position into a leadership role and take ownership of a well-regarded golf course equipment operation.

The Head Mechanic / Equipment Manager will play a key role in maintaining the club’s equipment fleet and supporting the golf course maintenance team through dependable, organized, and high-quality equipment management.

The Head Mechanic / Equipment Manager is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and overall management of the golf course equipment fleet. This role works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to ensure all equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and at a high standard. The successful candidate will be organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to help build and improve the equipment maintenance program.

Perform preventative maintenance and repair on all golf course maintenance equipmentDiagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a wide range of equipmentEstablish and manage a preventative maintenance program for the equipment fleetMaintain accurate records of service, repairs, parts inventory, and equipment historyManage parts ordering and inventory in an organized and cost-effective mannerMaintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop environmentCommunicate equipment needs, repair timelines, and replacement recommendations to managementAssist in equipment setup, grinding, and adjustment to meet golf course expectationsHelp evaluate fleet condition and contribute to long-term equipment planningEnsure all equipment is operating safely and train staff on proper use when neededExperience repairing and maintaining turf equipment, small engines, diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systemsStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to organize a shop and implement systems for maintenance and inventoryPositive attitude and willingness to work as part of a teamGood communication skills and a professional approachAbility to work independently and take ownership of the roleThis position is especially well-suited for a candidate looking to advance from an assistant or #2 mechanic role into a head mechanic positionAbout Hollow Brook Golf ClubHollow Brook Golf Club is a premier golf facility located approximately one hour north of New York City in Westchester County.
