Job Purpose
The Teaching Professional is responsible for sharing their passion for golf with others by teaching individual and group lessons. Teaching Professionals enjoy interacting with members and guests to bring awareness into the golf program.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and teach golf in a golf range setting or on the golf course
- Create member interest in playing golf, becoming a member and buying products and services associated with the game of golf that are available at the property
- Create current and future interest in membership other services and products offered for sale at the property through attracting an audience to events by making available samples, administering contests, distributing prizes
- May be asked to perform golf shop job functions
- May be asked to perform supervisor duties in some situations
- Other duties may be assigned by management
Qualifications
- Class A PGA Member
- Minimum 2 years’ experience providing golf lessons
- Basic math skills, the ability to write and communicate clearly required
- The ability to operate the following equipment is required to operate the golf shop: cash register, inventory control system, calculator, computer, copier, fax, and telephone.
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Working Conditions
- Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
