Job Title- Outside Services
Reports To: Director of Golf or General Manager
Position Concept: To create a positive guest experience by assisting guests and members. This may include but not be limited to greeting guests and assisting with them with golf bags to and from their vehicles, cleaning and staging golf carts, greeting guests before and after each round, and cleaning their clubs. Also, outside service staff are to prioritize that each guest receives excellent, positive, and helpful customer service. Ensuring an outstanding golf experience.
Essential Duties
Assist with the overall upkeep of the clubhouse, cart storage area, and parking lot.
Assist with the set up and execution of golf outings, and tournaments.
Provide sincere and courteous service, including bag handling and club cleaning to all guests.
Attend staff meetings as required.
Operation of golf cars, people movers, and driving range equipment in a safe manner.
Maintains the cart staging area in a neat and orderly fashion including the bag drop area.
Prepare golf carts for play following the standards set by the Club.
Clean and store carts at the conclusion of play per standards set by the club.
May be required to perform minimal cart maintenance.
Assists in educating players regarding course policy, current cart policy, speed of play and so forth.
Range maintenance: present practice facility with practice balls in the ball machine, bag stands, den caddies if needed for an event. Maintain ball inventory throughout the day.
Support all club marketing and membership activities.
Maintain accurate records of golfers renting clubs, service the customer who is renting golf clubs and clean rental clubs upon return.
Assist with food and beverage activities.
Maintain a professional conduct and dress at all times.
Work with Players Assistants and Golf Shop staff to facilitate orderly start of play and great guest experience.
Handle guest problems in the appropriate manner.
Properly document all accidents and guest issues.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid injury to self and others.
Report all cases of theft or loss immediately to the General Manager.
Ensure that all guests are provided with excellent service each and every day, including guests who may be handicapped or disabled.
Constantly project a friendly, helpful attitude to all guests.
Job Knowledge and Education
Less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training.
Valid driver’s license required
Skills and Aptitudes
English Fluency required.
May be required to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
May be required to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, service and instruction manuals.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Organized and efficient.
May be called upon to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and deal with contract and abstract variables.
May be called upon to apply common sense understanding to deal with problems involving customers and in other situations.
Working Conditions
Regularly stands and walks.
Regularly works in all types of outdoor weather conditions
Works both in and out of doors.
Regularly uses hands and fingers.
Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally may lift up to 100 pounds.
May be vulnerable to errant golf balls.
Occasionally will sit climb or balance, stop kneel, crawl and crouch.
Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
Occasionally works in area with moving parts, may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
