A greenskeeper maintains the turf, landscaping, and playing conditions of a golf course, ensuring greens, fairways, and bunkers are in optimal condition. Key tasks include mowing, watering, fertilizing, aerating, and repairing turf and alongside operating.
Pay Range: $16/hourly
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 6:30 am - 3:30 pm
Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 am - 11:00 am
(This position requires to work every other weekend)
Key Responsibilities
Mowing, edging, aeration, and fertilizing of greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
Raking sand bunkers, changing hole locations, divot filling, and repairing ball marks.
Safely operating walking mowers, riding mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, bunker rakes, and powered debris blowers.
Moving tee markers, changing hole locations on greens, and ensuring the overall, landscape is neat.
Working Conditions
Often work early mornings, weekends, and holidays to minimize disruption to golfers.
Outdoors working environment subject to pre-dawn hours and conditions such as heat, cold, rain and in confined spaces
Complete manual labor for long periods of time, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, crouching, or kneeling, pushing/pulling of levers on equipment and machinery, reaching in all directions and prolonged periods of time.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include early mornings, overtime and holidays if necessary.
Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift heavy objects (approx. 60 lbs.), and stand/walk for extended periods.
Ability to operate motorized equipment and hand tools.
Knowledge preferred but not required of operating outdoor grounds maintenance equipment
Must be able to read chemical labels
Meticulous approach to ensuring the course is visually appealing and highly playable.
Perform quality work within deadlines
Interact professionally with other employees, members and guests
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. without restrictions
Must be able to push and pull up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time without breaks
Requires long periods of time standing, walking, frequent bending, crouching, kneeling and reaching.
Will be exposed to outside weather conditions including high temperatures
Will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment
The noise level in the work environment is high.
