About the Role
Golf course maintenance workers, also known as groundskeepers, perform a variety of tasks to keep golf courses in good condition. These tasks can include:
Mowing: Mowing greens, fairways, roughs, and other grass areas
Trimming: Trimming grass and shrubbery
Raking: Raking bunkers and sand traps
Watering: Watering roughs and hand watering
Seeding: Seeding tees, fairways, and greens
Fertilizing: Applying fertilizers and chemicals
Maintaining: Maintaining fringes, flags, cups, yardage markers, tee boxes, sprinkler systems, and golf carts
Repairing: Repairing irrigation and drainage systems, leaks, clogs, and other system malfunctions
Other: Changing hole locations, blowing debris, filling ball washers and water coolers, moving tee markers, grading and preparing course bases, laying sod, and using hand tools to excavate and backfill trenches
Golf course maintenance workers may also be called upon to complete special projects, such as planting and weeding flower beds. They should have a valid driver's license and be able to drive various types of golf carts and utility vehicles. Some skills that are important for golf course maintenance workers include outdoor work, landscaping, irrigation, turf grass, and landscape maintenance.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
