DIRECTOR OF GOLF INSTUCTION OVERVIEW
The Director of Golf Instruction oversees the Club’s instructional facility and provides high-level coaching and develops programs that increase participation to improve golfers’ skills at all levels. This role combines teaching expertise, program management, member engagement, and business development.
Operations
• Proactively secures the appointments through the Bear Lakes Pacesetter app as well as regular
communication with Bear Lakes staff members regarding availability and program development.
• Offer complimentary Membership Experiences of one hour per week by being present on the driving
range for complementary support and tips.
• Work with Director of Membership welcoming new Members to instructional programming including one-hour complimentary lesson by the Director of Instruction.
• Must be available to play in Club member events a minimum of three (3) times per month as the
schedule permits including Daily Men’s Games and seasonal Ladies Days.
• Participate in Staff/ Pro-Am Events as the schedule permits.
• Actively custom club fit members, as custom fitting is integral to helping members play their best
• possible golf.
• Provide golf instruction to members daily; when not instructing, other duties may be assigned and
scheduled by the Director of Golf Operations.
Programming
• Prepare an annual instructional calendar prior to season and review thirty days prior to the start of each quarter with the Director of Golf Operations and the Golf Committees for comment and approval.
• Design and implement instructional programs for that complement the Club’s active tournament
schedule.
• Provide the membership with a comprehensive instructional program that meets and exceeds the
students’ needs and expectations. This includes:
o Individual private golf instruction using the latest diagnostic tools
o Adult instructional clinics for all skill levels
o Junior holiday instructional clinics and summer camps for all skill levels in
coordination with the professional golf staff
• Develop, implement and manage all golf instruction clinics for members including regular general
clinics (frequency determined by Director of Golf and Director of Instruction), seasonal monthly on course clinics, seasonal ladies’ monthly clinics, and monthly One Day Golf Academies.
Technology and Marketing
• Manage new technology acquisitions and learn how to use them effectively; educate and trains staff on technical aspects of technical equipment.
• Create training videos and /updates content as necessary once per week
• Provide regular social media and marketing materials for the Membership including but not limited to a minimum of 4 monthly videos (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.), weekly written tips, and other publications the Director of Golf and Director of Instruction mutually agree on.
• Oversee the Trackman Range program including Membership education/usage.
• Leadership with Trackman relating repairs, upgrades, and updates.
Team and Leadership
• Training and developing professionals/associates/interns on staff to provide high-quality instruction in a
• consistent format including scheduled weekly time to work with professional team.
• Supervision of Bear Lakes Practice Facilities, including but not limited to:
o Controlling the flow of materials, demo and fitting equipment, and merchandise
o Managing employee, member and property safety/security at range
o Monitoring or implementing compliance measures

EDUCATIONAL AND CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have PGA Class A membership; (Preferred)Certified Golf Fitness Professional.
COMPENSATION
OTE- $150k-$175K
