About the Role Our client, a premier golf and leisure facility in **Tampa, Florida**, is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Head Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the meticulous maintenance and development of their championship golf courses. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive agronomic programs for all turfgrass areas, including greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. Supervise, train, and mentor a team of groundskeepers, assistant superintendents, and equipment operators, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Oversee the daily operational activities of the golf course maintenance department, including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, pest and disease control, and bunker maintenance. Manage the department's budget effectively, controlling costs related to labor, materials, and equipment. Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and implement sustainable maintenance practices. Operate and maintain a fleet of golf course maintenance equipment, ensuring proper upkeep and repair. Collaborate with golf professionals and management to prepare courses for tournaments and special events. Monitor weather conditions and adjust maintenance schedules accordingly to protect turf health. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including chemical applications, soil tests, and course conditions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Turfgrass Management, or a related field from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Advanced knowledge of turfgrass physiology, soil science, pest and disease management, and irrigation systems. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a relevant state pesticide applicator's license. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and record-keeping. Familiarity with GPS technology and modern course management software is a plus. A proven track record of successfully managing complex agronomic programs and improving course conditions. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by course operations in **Tampa, Florida**.
