Position: #P-1810 Head Boys Golf Coach - Brooke High School Job DetailsTitle: Head Boys Golf Coach Location: Brooke High School Position Type: Athletics / Coach Date Posted: 6/11/2026 Date Available: Closing Date: 06/17/2026 County: Brooke County SchoolsReports toPrincipal, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, or designee assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Job GoalsTo direct all coaching activities, including sign-ups, practice sessions, games, and drills.To direct all coaching activities for high school grades nine through twelve, and work with middle school coaches to create a feeder system.To prepare athletes for the next level of competition with emphasis on fundamental skills and principles of the game.To attend professional development courses and clinics that improve coaching techniques, strategies, team philosophy, and leadership.QualificationsCertification or licensure required by the West Virginia Board of Education and the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission.Experience in classroom teaching and the area of specialty preferred.Employment Term & CompensationCoaching contract shall terminate and/or be renewed annually at the end of the designated school year or may be terminated at any time for just cause pursuant to the West Virginia Code §18A-2-8 or by mutual consent.Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with Policy 5310 and the Brooke County Board of Education Policy of Evaluation of Coaches.Responsibilities & DutiesImplement the rules and regulations set forth by the West Virginia Board of Education, WVSSAC, Brooke County Board of Education, Brooke High School, and the Athletic Department.Demonstrate professional ethics, including:Cooperating with, supporting and demonstrating loyalty to the program, the athletic department, the school, and the district.Being dependable, reliable, and punctual.Exhibiting sportsmanlike behavior.Hold regular meetings with staff, including pre-season and post-season meetings.Schedule interscholastic events with the Athletic Department’s assistance.Arrange meetings with and/or training for middle school coaches prior to the start of the middle school program.Work with high school and middle school staff to facilitate the assimilation of middle school players into the varsity program.Conduct tryouts, if applicable.Submit eligibility lists, team rosters, parent consent forms and insurance forms to the Athletic Director and/or Athletic Trainer as required.Develop and implement team rules with consequences, in accordance with the Brooke County Student Handbook and Brooke County policy.Announce and enforce rules and regulations for safe participation in accordance with WVSSAC policy by teaching necessary skills and practices.Organize daily practices and provide written plans to the Athletic Director upon request.Rate officials as required by the WVSSAC.Evaluate player performance, including post-season awards and recognition by WVSSAC, OVAC, or other organizations.Promote and supervise off-season conditioning programs.Supervise game day equipment and field/game surface maintenance.Supervise student managers, scorekeepers, and student trainers.Provide direct supervision of student athletes in locker rooms, during practice, contests, travel, and in the weight room.Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and uniforms, distributing at season start and collecting at season end.Inspect equipment and field of play for safety.Recommend to the Athletic Director the purchase of equipment, supplies, uniforms, and other items within the athletic budget.Scout opposing teams, including utilizing the HUDL program.Maintain all required contest scores and statistics.Assist athletes pursuing collegiate athletic careers.At season conclusion, provide the Athletic Director with:Final team rosterGame scores and records for all levelsList of all lettering athletesList of all awards participation athletesUniform and equipment inventoryVerification of officials’…
