About the Role
Golf course spray technician safely mixes, calibrates, and applies fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides to greens, tees, fairways and rough. Working under the golf course superintendent, this role requires strict adherence to safety regulations, accurate record-keeping of chemical usage, and routine maintenance of application equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Chemical Application: Safely mix and apply fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides across designated turf areas.Equipment Calibration: Calibrate and operate specialized sprayers, spreaders, and utility vehicles to ensure precise coverageSafety & Compliance: Follow all federal, state, and local laws regarding chemical handling, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and storage maintenance.Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of all chemical applications, weather conditions, inventory levels, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).General Maintenance: Assist with general golf course upkeep (mowing, trimming, edging) when not spraying.Qualifications & Requirements
Licensing: Valid state pesticide applicator license (or the ability to earn certification within 2 months of hire).Experience: Prior groundskeeping or golf course agronomy experience preferred.Knowledge: Understanding of turfgrass management, chemical safety, and equipment mechanics.Physical Fitness: Ability to lift 60 lbs., work outdoors in various weather conditions, and stand or walk for long periods.Driver’s License: Valid driver's license with a clean record.Full time Hours are Monday- Friday 5:30am - 2:00pm and applicant must be able to work every other weekend 5:30am – 9:30am Saturday and Sunday.
