POSITION OVERVIEW
TheBoysVarsity GolfCoach for thefallseason interscholastic athletic program will be responsible for planning and direct supervision of daily team activities. This includes in-season as well as out-of-season contact which must be within MIAA and BHS policies. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Pre-Season:
Attend coaches meetings (school and BSC)Complete all necessary HR paperwork/trainingAssist in monitoring registration and clearanceAssist in hiring process of sub-varsity and assistant coachesCheck equipment inventory and make any requests to ADCheck uniform inventoryWork with Assist AD on practice/competition schedulingRequest transportation through Athletic DeptRead Athletic Handbook and ask AD for any clarification of policies etc.Plan meet the coaches night for familiesProvidefirst week schedule to Assistant ADReview website for any changesIn Season:
Set up time with Equipment Manager to distribute uniforms/equipmentConfirm eligibility of studentsPlan practice sessions accordinglycommunicate schedule at least 2 weeks in advanceAssist in management of sub-varsity and assistant coaches with ADCoordinate with Athletic Trainer for any athlete injuries and return to playRide bus to and from away contests - possibly drive school vanCommunicate schedule and any announcements with families via weekly email updateAssist with any scheduling changes and communication of them to players/familiesKeep accurate records of scores report scores to AD and/or mediaKeep attendance dailyCommunicate any issues with ADPost-Season:
Set up time with Equipment Manager to collect uniforms in full - lead this processHave students complete Athletic Dept surveyLet Administrative Assistant know if any student did not return any uniform or equipmentProvide AD with full list of athletes who earned a letter and any postseason accoladesConfirm final roster and wellness credit eligibilityNominate players for postseason accolades as neededAttend BSC end of season meetingHave end of season meeting with AD - complete closeout formHave end of season meetings with Sub-varsity and Assistant CoachesHave closeout meetings with each studentMake recommendations to AD on scheduling for following yearMake recommendations to AD on equipment needs for following yearQUALIFICATIONS-REQUIRED:
Knowledge of MIAA Rules and PoliciesConcussion awareness training certificationCPR/AED certificationCurrent authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employmentQUALIFICATIONS-PREFERRED:
