River Crest has played an influential role in Texas golf and social history. Home to the first golf course in Fort Worth and host to numerous notable tournaments, member events, and civic gatherings, the Club has remained a vibrant part of the community for generations. While golf remains central to River Crest’s identity, the Club today offers a comprehensive and contemporary private club experience designed to meet the needs of a multigenerational membership.
The Club’s campus features a beautifully maintained golf course, indoor and outdoor racquet facilities, an aquatics complex, fitness and wellness spaces, multiple dining venues, and thoughtfully curated social and family programming. The clubhouse—welcoming and refined—serves as the heart of the membership experience, offering casual and formal dining, private event spaces, and traditional gathering areas that reflect the Club’s character and charm.

The Position
River Crest Country Club, a prestigious, tradition-rich, and family-oriented private club, is seeking an experienced and personable General Manager/Chief Operating Officer (GM/COO) to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Club’s employees and Board of Directors. This role oversees all aspects of club operations, strategic capital planning, and member admissions. In essence, the GM/COO serves as the Club’s senior executive—advancing River Crest’s commitment to excellence, safeguarding its family-centered reputation, and ensuring a consistently exceptional member experience across all facilities and services.
Working in partnership with the Board of Directors, the GM/COO guides long-range strategic planning, drives operational success and financial stability, and fosters a collaborative governance culture rooted in communication, transparency, trust, and clearly defined roles. This leader will serve as the visible “face of the Club,” building strong relationships with members, staff, committees, and community partners to achieve shared goals.
The candidate
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of success in private clubs; strong business and communication skills; deep food and beverage expertise; creative and extensive event-planning capabilities; high emotional intelligence; and the leadership presence needed to steward a complex, service-driven organization. Candidates should also have demonstrated success planning and implementing major capital projects involving member assessments, operating in temporary facilities, and navigating the membership and staffing challenges that accompany those efforts.
The Salary
This position pays a competitive salary and standard benefits package. The salary is negotiable based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
