Golf Attendant/Greeter

Carts/Greeter Location Bluffton, SC / Rose Hill Golf Club Department Golf Operations Reports To Director of Golf Employment Status Full-Time/Part-Time Schedule TBD Pay Range $10/hr plus tips POSITION SUMMARY The Carts/Greeter employee provides a welcoming first and last impression for members, guests, and visitors. This position greets golfers upon arrival, assists with golf bags and equipment, prepares and maintains golf carts, keeps the cart staging and bag drop areas clean and organized, and supports the daily flow of golf operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to excellent customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet members and guests promptly, professionally, and courteously upon arrival and departure. Assist golfers with unloading, loading, staging, and handling golf bags and personal equipment. Prepare, stage, distribute, and return golf carts in an orderly manner based on daily play and operational needs. Clean and inspect golf carts, including removing trash, wiping surfaces, checking scorecards and pencils, and reporting damage or maintenance concerns. Maintain the cart staging, cart storage, bag drop, and surrounding outdoor areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Welcome and direct golfers to the golf shop, practice facilities, first tee, restrooms, and other course amenities as needed. Provide basic information regarding course procedures, starting times, cart rules, and facility services, or refer questions to the appropriate team member. Communicate with the golf shop, starter, ranger, and other golf operations employees to support an efficient pace of service and cart availability. Assist with tournament setup, special events, practice range duties, club cleaning, bag storage, and other golf operations tasks when assigned. Follow all safety procedures and immediately report hazards, accidents, injuries, equipment problems, or guest concerns to a supervisor. Protect member and guest property and promptly turn in any lost items according to company procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned based on business needs. CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS Maintain a professional, helpful, and respectful attitude at all times. Anticipate guest needs and respond quickly to reasonable requests. Handle complaints or service concerns calmly and refer unresolved matters to a supervisor. Maintain a neat appearance and wear the required uniform. QUALIFICATIONS Previous customer service, hospitality, recreation, or golf course experience is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of golf etiquette and golf operations is helpful; training may be provided. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with members, guests, coworkers, and supervisors. Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Must be dependable and available for early-morning, weekend, holiday, and variable shifts. Must meet all company and legal age, driving, and equipment-operation requirements. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Regularly stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and handle golf bags and equipment. Regularly lift and carry golf bags and other items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Safely enter, exit, and operate golf carts or other authorized equipment when assigned and properly trained. Work outdoors in changing weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, rain, wind, and direct sunlight. Ability to hear, see, and respond to golfers, vehicles, carts, and other activity in the work area. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is primarily performed outdoors around moving golf carts, vehicles, golfers, and golf course equipment. The employee may be exposed to uneven surfaces, wet conditions, dust, noise, and changing weather. Required personal protective equipment and safety practices must be followed at all times.
