About the Role
## 2nd Shift Manager — Distribution Operations (Evansville, IN)
The Manager of 2nd Shift Distribution Operations will oversee all 2nd shift activity at our North America Distribution Facility in Evansville, Indiana. This is an onsite position located in Evansville, IN, reporting to the Senior Manager Outbound Fulfillment GSN. You will be accountable for inbound and outbound activities, service level targets, order flow/wave planning, quality, and special activities, coordinating closely with 1st shift warehouse counterparts to ensure efficient, high-quality service performance.
You will manage the daily flow and efficiency of 2nd shift operations, including outbound shipping, inbound receiving, replenishments, quality, and safety and 6S requirements. Troubleshooting and problem solving as production issues or delays arise during the shift is part of the role, as is monitoring and reporting on key productivity indicators (KPI) such as on time delivery and quality. Ensuring staffing and capacity on 2nd shift matches forecasted demand and reallocating resources or shifting crew members as needed to optimize workflow are expected duties.
You will lead, build, develop, and motivate shift leaders and individual contributors to maintain high performance. Creating an environment of continuous improvement and collaboration and proactively identifying process enhancements and efficiency opportunities are important to the role. You will make sure systems and physical warehouse processes are defined and understood by the warehouse team and train team members on processes and standards when needed. Performing other related duties and assignments as required will also be part of the position.
Your background should include a BS degree or equivalent work experience and 7-10 years of experience in a high-throughput, consumer goods warehouse environment, with 5 - 7 years of experience in a supervisory or people management role. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required, along with the ability to accurately assess talent and effectively motivate and influence others to build skills and develop leading edge processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power. Point) and strong English written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels are expected.
The work environment is primarily a warehouse setting with standing and walking most of the day. Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage also apply. You must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and reach. The role requires medium physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials, up to 50 pounds required. You must be able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
