Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pickleball Professional role based at Wycliffe Golf & Country Club in Wellington, FL. The Pickleball Professional will lead individual and group instruction for players of varying ages and abilities, focusing on skill development, strategy, and safe play.

Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing and running clinics, drills, and social events, coordinating ladders, leagues, and tournaments, and assisting with scheduling and court usage to ensure a high-quality member experience. The role involves actively engaging with members on and off the courts, providing feedback, answering questions, and promoting pickleball programs.

The Pickleball Professional will also support the maintenance of a safe and welcoming environment, collaborate with other racquet sport and club staff, and contribute ideas to grow participation and enhance programming.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality pickleball instruction to individuals and groups of varying skill levels.Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans for group clinics and private lessons.Create a positive and inclusive environment for players, fostering a love for the sport and a sense of community.Organize and oversee pickleball tournaments, leagues, and social play events.Provide equipment recommendations and assistance to members.Maintain accurate records of lesson schedules and player progress.Remains abreast of industry trends, teaching methodologies, and certifications related to pickleball.Is visibly present on the courts during peak periods of play.Attends staff as required.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Demonstrated pickleball expertise, including strong playing ability, knowledge of rules, strategy, and current best practices in coaching and instruction.Experience teaching or coaching racquet sports, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging clinics, private lessons, and group programs for diverse skill levels.USAPA (USA Pickleball Association) certification or equivalent is highly preferred.USPTA Certification preferred.Exceptional playing skills in pickleball (4.5/5.0 +) and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on member service, positive engagement, and the ability to foster an inclusive, welcoming environment.Strong organizational and time-management skills, including experience coordinating events, leagues, and tournaments in a club or athletic setting.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments, adapt to changing schedules or member needs, and maintain professionalism at all times.Comfort working outdoors and standing for extended periods, with the physical capability to demonstrate techniques and participate actively in play.Relevant coaching or instructor certifications in pickleball or racquet sports are preferred; prior experience in a private club, resort, or sports facility is beneficial.Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with member activity and club programming.
