About the Role
This entry-level PGA professional will focus on daily operations, guest service, merchandising, tournaments, and instruction while working toward PGA certification. You will assist in the management of golf operations, including the Pro Shop, golf cart rentals, practice facilities. You are seeking development and mentorship while you gain hands on experience of a world class golf program. You can make independent decisions requiring technical knowledge, sound judgment and familiarity with the golf industry standards. You possess the knowledge of: daily golf course operations and procedures, USGA rules, handicap, course rating system, mechanics and techniques of golf swing, and general game of golf. You are detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The Associate Golf Professional plays a key role in delivering a polished, guest-focused experience by supporting both the golf shop and course operations. Responsibilities include assisting with merchandise display, inventory management, sales, and special orders, ensuring every guest interaction is professional and attentive. The Associate also helps manage tee times, point-of-sale transactions, and daily reporting, while coordinating with caddies, instructional staff, course maintenance, and outside service teams to ensure smooth operation of events and daily play. By personally recognizing guests and members, answering questions, assisting with lessons and clinics, and maintaining consistent communication across teams, the Associate contributes directly to a seamless, welcoming, and highly personalized golf experience that enhances overall guest satisfaction.

You maintain your knowledge of Sea Island’s properties, services, and offerings, and share this information with guests, members, and team members. You are generous with your support and help resolve any service issues that arise in a timely and positive way, following up as needed. You are proactive in aiding when needed and are willing to help with other areas or duties as requested.
Job Requirements
• One (1) year working in golf industry/private golf club experience preferred
• Class A PGA Membership or currently enrolled as an associate of the PGA of America
• Must have passed the player ability test for the PGA program and advanced skill in playing golf
• Maintain timeline for successful completion of Associate Program
• Fulfill PGA Member Service Requirement (MSR) to maintain a class “A” standing if applicable
• College degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a favorable driving history
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform a golf leadership role, maintain ongoing, prolonged physical activity throughout a scheduled day to include lifting 30 plus pounds, indoor and outdoor environments, comfort with noise levels, electrical, chemical and fume hazards with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, stretch, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
• Timeliness and flexibility-you agree to work a flexible schedule, which could include weekends, early mornings, evenings and holidays.
