About the Role
Position summary: The Food and Beverage Manager is a key member of the Food & Beverage Team at Trump National Golf Club, Washington DC. We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for food and beverage and enjoys providing exceptional service to our members and their guests. The responsibilities of this position center on day to day operations of the entire Food & Beverage department at the club. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and providing leadership to our Grill restaurant servers, hostesses and bartenders in order to produce excellence. Areas of responsibility include a la carte dining (PM), pool lounge, and auxiliary F&B amenities, plus assistance with sales, marketing, aesthetics, and execution of club events, banquets, and golf outings, and any other responsibilities as assigned by the ClubHouse Manager.
Experience required: Candidate must have related experience in upscale food and beverage operations, preferably in a private club setting, restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in the areas of fine dining, wine service and the desire to keep learning. This role requires excellent member and guest service, leadership, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have experience with the Clubs POS system and/or be able to learn new computer requirements. Must be able to communicate effectively and fulfill essential job duties while holding confidentiality in the highest regard. Must be reliable and willing to work flexible hours which includes holidays, nights and weekends. Must be committed to a team approach and be consistent with follow-through. Candidates need to be hands-on in the daily operation of the dining areas and work in tandem with all managers and staff to ensure proper service standards are being observed by all service staff.
Expectations:
• To effectively manage a shift and maintain high service standards, paying close attention to detail
• Develop a strong rapport with the membership and address them by name
• Be proficient with the daily administration of the Grill, and complete assigned duties and responsibilities in a timely manner
• Develop strong communication skills with your management team, colleagues, service staff and culinary staff
• Be energetic and enthusiastic during the shift while maintaining a professional work environment
• Be a leader and set the standards that you would like your team to follow
• Be creative with your pre-shift meetings and develop incentive and training programs that will promote teamwork and improve revenue
• Be a team member not an individual
• Must be able to work a minimum of (50) hours when the business demands requires it
• Experience preferred: A minimum of two years’ management experience in a high end quality club or upscale /restaurant/hotel and/or a college education is preferred, however, candidates with demonstrated equivalent training and experience will be considered. A desire to progress in Club Management is highly valued. This is an excellent opportunity for a rising star in the private club industry.
