Job SummarySupports the Superintendent in managing daily maintenance, supervising staff, and ensuring high-quality playing conditions. Key responsibilities include turf management (mowing, fertilization, chemical applications), irrigation system operation, and overseeing maintenance crews. Act as the on-site grounds leader in the Superintendent’s absence.

Essential FunctionsHave a strong understanding of turf grass culture, course conditioning, construction and reconstruction, the proper use of fertilizers and pesticides as well as irrigation equipment operation and maintenance;In absence of the Course Superintendent lead maintenance efforts for golf courseSupervises personnel in various maintenance job responsibilities;Operates all equipment; instructs others on safety operations and proper use;Purchases necessary parts, tools, and supplies to support the shop and golf course maintenance in accordance with County policy;Help plan, schedule and monitor all daily operations including insuring adequate staffing schedules for daily needs as well as coordination of leave requests;Maintains records of minor and major maintenance repairs and safety inspections;Assists with the preparation, implementation and monitoring of annual operating and capital budget for golf course;Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in golf course maintenanceKnowledge of turf management practices and irrigation systemsStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditionsDegree in Turfgrass Management or related field preferredOrganization OverviewSt.
