About the Role
The Pool Manager is responsible for the overall operation, safety, cleanliness, and member experience of Red Run Golf Club’s swimming and aquatic facilities. This position ensures a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment while delivering exceptional service consistent with the Club’s standards of excellence.
The Pool Manager oversees daily operations, supervises aquatics staff, manages programming and events, maintains regulatory compliance, and ensures an outstanding recreational experience for members and guests throughout the pool season.
Leadership & Staff Management
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate all pool personnel.
• Provide onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training for aquatics staff.
• Develop weekly work schedules and staff rotation plans.
• Maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and promote a positive team culture.
• Enforce club policies, safety standards, and professional conduct expectations.
Operations & Facility Management
• Supervise daily pool operations to ensure safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
• Maintain pool chemical balance and coordinate mechanical maintenance with the Club’s maintenance department.
• Purchase and manage inventory of pool chemicals and operational supplies.
• Assist with seasonal pool opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain locker rooms, changing areas, and surrounding pool facilities to club standards.
• Manage lost and found items within the pool area.
• Oversee pool snack bar operations.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for maintenance and facility improvements.
Safety & Compliance
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive pool safety programs.
• Enforce all club safety rules and behavioral policies.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain required MSDS documentation.
• Maintain accurate records including:
• Attendance logs
• Chemical records
• Accident and incident reports
• Staff schedules and certifications
• Member conduct reports
Member Services & Programming
• Register members and guests and ensure proper billing for guests, lessons, and programs.
• Plan, organize, and oversee special pool events and activities.
• Develop and manage private and group swim and diving lesson programs.
• Coach and support swim and dive teams as needed.
• Provide aquatics-related content for club newsletters and communications.
• Maintain a visible and professional presence during peak periods and special events.
• Represent the Club professionally at aquatics-related activities and functions.
• Develop annual operating and staffing budgets for approval by the GM/COO.
• Monitor expenses and implement corrective action to achieve budget goals.
• Order, merchandise, and sell retail pool items including swimwear and accessories.
• Maintain accurate accounting and sales records.
Additional Responsibilities
• Attend department and club staff meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the GM/COO.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the GM/COO.

• Swimming Instructors
• Lifeguards
Qualifications (Recommended Addition)
• Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Previous aquatics or pool management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of pool chemistry and aquatic safety standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during the pool season.
Work is performed primarily outdoors in a pool and recreational setting with exposure to varying weather conditions and high member interaction.
