Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Superintendent, Golf Course to join our team and help elevate the quality and beauty of our golf course. In this vital role, you will assist in overseeing daily landscape maintenance, ensuring the course remains pristine, healthy, and inviting for players and visitors alike. Your leadership will be essential in coordinating landscaping projects, supervising maintenance staff, and maintaining the overall aesthetic and functional excellence of the course. Duties
Assist in managing all aspects of golf course landscape maintenance, including turf care, planting, pruning, and landscaping
Supervise maintenance crews to ensure high standards of lawn care, tree care, irrigation, gardening, and general landscaping are met consistently
Coordinate construction projects related to course improvements or renovations while ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld
Oversee routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control to promote healthy turf and plant life
Monitor irrigation systems for proper operation and troubleshoot issues promptly to ensure optimal water management
Support the implementation of horticultural best practices to enhance course aesthetics and sustainability
Collaborate with other departments to plan seasonal upgrades or enhancements that improve course playability and visual appeal
Skills
Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping within a large outdoor setting
Strong supervising experience with the ability to lead teams effectively and foster a positive work environment
Knowledge of lawn care techniques, horticulture principles, tree care practices, and irrigation systems
Familiarity with construction processes related to outdoor projects on golf courses or similar facilities
Ability to perform maintenance tasks such as gardening, turf management, and equipment operation confidently
Excellent leadership skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, vendors, and management
