Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. Founded in 1926, Hope Valley is an elite private club featuring a classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facility, resort-style pool complex, and a spacious, welcoming clubhouse offering its members first-class recreation, dining, and programming. Hope Valley is ideally situated in the heart of one of Southeast’s most vibrant, exciting areas. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will support daily operations and deliver an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests. This individual will play a key role in leading service teams, maintaining high standards, and assisting in the execution of club dining, events, and special functions. Essential Responsibilities Assist in the daily management of all food and beverage operations, including dining outlets, banquets, and special events Lead and supervise front-of-house staff to ensure exceptional service standards are consistently met Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of service staff Maintain a strong presence on the floor, engaging with members and guests to ensure satisfaction Coordinate closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless execution of service Assist in planning and executing club events, tournaments, and private functions Monitor service quality, cleanliness, and overall presentation of dining areas Support inventory management, ordering, and cost controls, including COGS tracking Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards Handle member feedback professionally and resolve any service-related concerns Qualifications Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a club, hospitality, or upscale restaurant environment Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs as needed Work Environment Fast-paced, member-focused club environment Indoor and outdoor service areas depending on event and season
