About the Role

Overview The Bridges Golf and Country Club in Montrose, CO is a semi-private Country Club that includes a Jack Nicklaus design championship golf course set just north of the San Juan Mountains. This incredible range provides a beautiful and unique backdrop to a challenging golf course and grand clubhouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for all golf operations and foster a warm club atmosphere that is inviting and inclusive to the members and guests. The golf professional will be a proactive leader, be visible, approachable and engaging to promote the game of golf and ensure a high level of customer service. Experience Required Bachelor's degree preferred. Class A PGA/LPGA is required. Head Golf Professional experience or at least 4 years experience in a Lead Assistant position with experience at a private facility. Excellent customer service, communication/relational skills. Excellent training and supervisory skills. Expert in managing the purchasing, displaying, and selling of golf merchandise. Must have experience in organizing, promoting and conducting professionally run member tournaments and corporate outings. Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, POS, inventory control systems, and tournament programs. Essential Responsibilities Manage the merchandising operation of a first-class golf shop. Ordering and managing inventory, developing relationships with vendors, providing the membership with quality merchandise options. Stay up to date on and stock the latest equipment. Experienced Teacher conducting private lessons, groups lessons, clinics, club fitting, demo days and coordinating junior golf program) Accomplished player that will represent the club in professional events including local, section, or national events. Practicing and playing to stay competitive is expected. Highly effective communication skills are a must. Working well with other departments and communication with these departments is a must for the successful operation of the club. Develop and manage a creative and inclusive member tournament program, Including men's and women's club events, leagues and player engagement / development programs. Outside Events - recruit, promote, contract and host outside events; coordinating event operations with banquet and appropriate club staff. Must be able to produce annual departmental budgets and manage the day to day and annual financial goals of the golf department. Manage the Outside Operations - driving range, golf carts, outside operations staff, monitor play on the golf course, and enforce the rules and regulations of the golf operations. Staff Supervision - responsible for the hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, disciplining, evaluating all assistant golf professionals and outside operations employees. Member Engagement - work daily to provide an inclusive welcoming club atmosphere and work with the Men's and Women's Golf Association in coordination of events, as well as playing golf with members. Daily consultation with the Golf Course Superintendent (course conditions, playability of course, maintenance issues, etc... Maintain standard golf shop operations of the tee sheet (Accurate rounds counts daily), opening and closing of the golf shop, proper close out of daily business, and provide a warm and inviting atmosphere in the golf shop at all times.
