About the Role
## Supervisor, Golf Maintenance (Second Assistant Superintendent)
This is a year-round, full-time position at Blue Mountain Resort, Ontario's largest mountain resort nestled on the shores of Southern Georgian Bay. The role supports the Golf Maintenance operation by ensuring daily course-care standards are consistently met or exceeded while actively performing all frontline golf maintenance duties.
### What You'll Do
You'll take on responsibilities that span both seasons. During golf season, you'll manage the daily operations of course maintenance, including mowing, trimming, bunker maintenance, fertilizing, and irrigation work. You'll assign work to staff and support training delivery, ensuring the team maintains the high standards our guests expect.
When winter arrives, your focus shifts to overseeing our ice rink facilities, where you'll use rink equipment, manage skating surface flooding, and handle snow removal operations. This includes operating various tractor equipment as needed. Throughout the year, you'll diagnose equipment malfunctions and address safety concerns promptly.
Beyond the routine maintenance tasks, you'll assist with IPM scouting and record keeping, helping identify diseases, pests, and weeds across the property. You'll apply fertilizers, pesticides, and fungicides as needed, including spot spraying for noxious weeds. Your technical skill with irrigation systems is important—you'll perform basic irrigation repairs independently and maintain proficiency in irrigation control systems.
### What We're Looking For
You must have a valid Spray license (Landscape Exterminator License) and a valid Driver's License, with reliable transportation to get to work. The combination of golf course and winter facility maintenance experience would be valuable, along with the ability to work independently on irrigation systems and supervise a team.
