Company Description Lonnie Poole Golf Course is a premier public golf facility located on NC State University’s Centennial Campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. Designed by Arnold Palmer and the Arnold Palmer Design Company, the course offers a layout that is playable for all skill levels while still challenging experienced golfers. It serves as a home venue for NC State’s men’s and women’s golf teams and supports turfgrass and stormwater research for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Role Description The Outside Staff Member is a part-time, on-site position located at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, NC. This role is responsible for providing friendly, efficient service to guests while supporting daily golf operations. Typical tasks include greeting golfers, managing bag drop and cart staging, maintaining practice areas, and ensuring golf carts are clean, safe, and properly stocked. The Outside Staff Member assists with cart management/maintenance, collects range balls and organizes equipment, and helps keep outdoor spaces tidy and presentable. The role will also support special events and tournaments, coordinate with the pro shop team, and respond to guest questions to promote a positive overall experience.
Qualifications
Ability to deliver continuous professional customer service and communicate clearly with guests and team members.Strong organizational skills for managing golf carts, daily operational needs, and practice areas in a clean and orderly manner.Reliability in following operational procedures, including safety practices and opening/closing duties.Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing physical tasks such as lifting golf bags and equipment.Basic knowledge of golf etiquette and clubhouse environment, or willingness to learn.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by golf course operations.Previous experience in hospitality, recreation, or golf operations is preferred but not required.High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; commitment to a respectful, inclusive working environment is essential.
