This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave.Qualifications:Who May Apply: Open to everyone. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:Must have experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions managed by a golf course manager.
OR
Substitution for Experience: A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in one or a combination of recreation or business management may be substituted for the general experience.
AND
Specialized Experience: In addition to the general experience, applicant must have specialized experience gained in the operation or management of a civilian or military golf course. The experience must include responsibility or supervision over at least one phase of a golf course operation. Specialized experience must be at a level that shows the applicant can perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A PGA Class A certificate is desirable.
Substitution for general and specialized experience: A Professional Golf Management degree from a PGA accredited Professional Golf Management School may be substituted for all general and specialized experience.Education:Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
