About the position Tumble Brook Country Club, located in Bloomfield, CT, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Greenskeeper! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. This is a seasonal position that will last 6 months or less. Ideal candidates have a passion for landscaping and nurturing our grounds. As a Greenskeeper, you will be responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course. Beginner Greenskeepers are welcome – while knowledge of grounds maintenance is preferred, previous experience is not required for the position. Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work extended hours during golf and the holiday season, as needed. Our team has made a conscious effort to ensure strong protocols are in place to keep you and our patrons safe, so you can focus on the customer experience, landscape, and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facilityMows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areasWaters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional waterRepairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as necessaryGrades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairwaysTrims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower bedsApplies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf coursePerforms related duties as assigned by supervisor or managerRequirements Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Driver’s LicenseAbility to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e., the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English)Nice-to-haves Knowledge of grounds maintenance is preferredBenefits Healthcare Benefits – Medical (if determined by the ACA measurement)Retirement Benefits – 401(k) with employer match (19 years of age and older)
