About the Role
Position: INFRASTRUCTURE SUPERINTENDENT – CHARLOTTE COUNTRY CLUB Location: Northern Charlotte Country Club is seeking an Infrastructure Superintendent to lead the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the club’s critical golf course infrastructure systems. This highly specialized leadership position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of the systems that support championship golf conditions throughout the property.The Infrastructure Superintendent will oversee the club’s Precision Aire hydronic rootzone heating and cooling system, irrigation infrastructure, pump stations, drainage systems, utility networks, water management systems, and major infrastructure projects. This individual will serve as the technical expert responsible for maximizing system performance while supporting the Director of Agronomy’s vision for delivering exceptional playing conditions every day.This role requires a mechanically inclined leader who enjoys solving complex problems, leveraging technology, and proactively maintaining sophisticated infrastructure before issues arise.Primary Responsibilities:Precision Aire Hydronic System ManagementAssume complete ownership of the Precision Aire hydronic rootzone heating and cooling system.Monitor system performance through software, sensors, and field observations.Develop preventative maintenance schedules for all hydronic components.Coordinate repairs and service with Precision Aire technicians and outside vendors.Optimize system performance to maximize turf health and consistency throughout the year.Maintain detailed operational records and performance data.Sub Air Unit ManagementAssume complete ownership of the 26 vaulted Sub Air units serving all bentgrass putting greens.Monitor and optimize Sub Air operation to maximize drainage, rootzone aeration, and overall turf health.Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs for all Sub Air components, including fans, vaults, controls, and associated infrastructure.Diagnose system issues and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and upgrades with Sub Air technicians and outside vendors.Utilize Sub Air technology to proactively manage playing conditions before, during, and after weather events.Maintain detailed operational records, maintenance logs, and system performance data.Irrigation InfrastructureOversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of the golf course irrigation system.Maintain pump stations, filtration equipment, central control software, field controllers, and communication networks.Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues.Coordinate seasonal start-up, winterization, and system upgrades.Monitor water usage while maximizing irrigation efficiency.Infrastructure & Utility SystemsManage drainage infrastructure throughout the property.Maintain stormwater systems, culverts, catch basins, and underground utilities.Oversee infrastructure supporting practice facilities, clubhouse grounds, and maintenance facilities.Assist in planning and executing infrastructure improvements.Project ManagementLead infrastructure-related capital projects.Coordinate contractors and vendors.Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently with minimal disruption to golf operations.Preventative MaintenanceDevelop comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all infrastructure systems.Maintain inventory of critical replacement parts.Identify emerging issues before failures occur.Utilize software platforms to monitor system performance.Analyze operational data to improve efficiency.Maintain infrastructure documentation, schematics, and maintenance records.Recommend new technologies that improve reliability and performance.Supervise and train team members assigned to infrastructure responsibilities.Assist in developing technical knowledge throughout the maintenance staff.Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.Qualifications:Experience managing golf course irrigation systems and infrastructure.Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.Experience with pump stations, irrigation controls, and water management.
