The Crew Staffing is seeking an experienced Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join the leadership team at a premier private country club. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated turf professional looking to grow into a Golf Course Superintendent role in the near future.
The ideal candidate has experience managing golf course maintenance operations, leading teams, and maintaining exceptional playing conditions. This position offers a clear succession path, as the current Superintendent plans to retire in the coming years. We're looking for someone eager to learn every aspect of the operation and develop into the next leader of the department.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising all golf course maintenance operations
Lead, train, and motivate the grounds maintenance team
Help manage daily scheduling, staffing, and work assignments
Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management
Oversee irrigation, fertilization, chemical applications, and cultural practices
Monitor turf health and playing conditions throughout the course
Ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standards
Maintain equipment, facilities, and maintenance records
Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent on long-term planning and course improvements
Qualifications
Previous golf course maintenance experience is required
Previous supervisory or management experience required
Experience managing crews, budgets, and daily golf course operations
Private club experience is preferred but not required
Degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field is preferred, but extensive golf course experience will be considered in its place
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and exceptional reliability
Passion for the golf course industry with a desire to become a Golf Course Superintendent
Positive attitude with a team-first, family-oriented mindset
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed
