Status: Full-time or Seasonal (March-November)
Position SummaryThe Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and playability of our golf course through daily care of greens, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and surrounding landscapes. This position plays a vital role in creating an exceptional golfing experience for our guests while supporting the broader resort environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, and roughs according to established standardsOperate specialized turf equipment including mowers, aerators, spreaders, and sprayersApply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides under supervision as requiredPrepare and maintain sand bunkersMonitor and adjust irrigation systems as directedIdentify and report turf diseases, irrigation issues, or equipment malfunctionsAssist with special projects such as drainage installation, tree maintenance, or landscape renovationSet up course according to daily specifications (tee markers, cup cutting, etc.)Perform preventative maintenance on equipmentMaintain cleanliness of maintenance shop and equipment storage areasSupport seasonal course preparations including opening and closing proceduresAssist with tournament preparation when neededComplete all tasks with minimal disruption to golfersQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious golf course or grounds maintenance experience preferred but not requiredValid driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to safely operate specialized turf equipmentBasic understanding of turfgrass management practicesPesticide applicator license or willingness to obtain (preferred)Knowledge of golf etiquette and basic rules of the gameAbility to follow detailed instructions and work independentlyExcellent attention to detailCommitment to safety procedures and protocolsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, cold, and rainMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 poundsStanding, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periodsAbility to start work early (typically 5:00-6:00 AM during peak season)Availability to work weekends and holidays during golf seasonWhat to Expect in Golf Course MaintenanceEarly morning start times (often beginning at sunrise) to complete course preparation before players arriveSeasonal schedule with longer hours during peak growing season (spring/summer)Operation of specialized equipment specific to golf course maintenanceRegular rotation of duties including mowing greens, fairways, tees, and roughsHand-watering during dry periods to maintain consistent turf qualityParticipation in aeration, topdressing, and overseeding processesPrecise attention to details that affect playability (cup cutting, bunker raking, etc.)Team-oriented environment focused on course conditions and player experienceBenefitsIn line with Company Policy
