Orchid Island GolfBeach Club is a private member-owned club, recognized as a Platinum Club® of America, located in the Town of Orchid, just north of Vero Beach, and beautifully situated on 600 acres from the ocean to the river.
Orchid Island GolfBeach Club is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance Worker. You will be afforded the ideal opportunity to put your landscape skills to work in a beautiful environment and friendly atmosphere, steps away from the white sand beach and the Audubon-certified golf course designed by the legend Arnold Palmer.
Golf Course Maintenance Worker Position Overview
Golf Course Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance while conducting themselves professionally and friendly. Projects a positive image of themselves and Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club.
Primary Responsibilities
Mows greens, tees, collars
Weed eats lake banks and bunker faces.
Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
Edge cart paths, bunkers, sprinkler heads, and drains
Prunes and removes debris and picks up trash when it is observed.
Fills divots with sand on trees, fairways, and drop areas.
Maintains and applies mulch/pine straw to beds.
Always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily.
Cleans and returns equipment to designated locations within the maintenance facility.
Performs visual inspections after each use and immediately reports equipment problems, failures, or safety issues to the head mechanic or supervisor.
Assists in applying fertilizer, seed, and pesticides under the direction of their immediate supervisor.
Wears uniforms and uses appropriate safety equipment and measures at all times.
Be courteous to all members, guests, and co-workers.
Understand and comply with all policies outlined in the Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club Employee Handbook.
Education, Experience,Requirements
Ability to comprehend and learn tasks associated with golf course maintenance.
Work knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and other equipment.
Ability to operate light motorized equipment.
Occasional sitting.
Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling exposure to loud noise levels and chemicals.
Continuous standing, walking, and repetitive actions.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. as needed.
Physically resolve to work outside in Florida's typical climate conditions and temperatures.
