Golf Course Superintendent

Greensburg Golf Club is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and ongoing improvement of its golf course. This full-time leadership role is responsible for keeping playing surfaces healthy, attractive, and consistent while supporting an enjoyable experience for members and guests. The superintendent will plan and oversee daily course-maintenance operations, balancing agronomic standards, playability, safety, and responsible use of resources.

The superintendent will develop and execute annual maintenance plans and budgets, establish priorities for routine and seasonal work, and monitor course conditions throughout the year. Responsibilities include managing turfgrass health; maintaining greens, tees, fairways, rough, bunkers, and landscaped areas; overseeing irrigation and drainage systems; and coordinating pest, weed, and disease management.

The role also includes planning course projects and improvements, evaluating equipment and supply needs, and keeping accurate records of applications, maintenance activities, labor, and expenditures.

As a working leader, the superintendent will recruit, train, schedule, and supervise grounds staff, promote safe work practices, and foster a professional, team-oriented environment. The superintendent will maintain equipment in coordination with the maintenance team and arrange repairs or servicing as needed. Clear communication with club leadership and golf operations is essential, particularly when coordinating maintenance schedules, course closures, weather-related responses, and projects that may affect play.

They will adapt maintenance practices to changing weather and course needs, follow applicable environmental and workplace regulations, and use labor, water, chemicals, and other resources thoughtfully. - Experience in golf course maintenance, turf management, or a closely related field.

- Knowledge of turfgrass care, irrigation, drainage, mowing practices, and pest and disease management.

- Experience leading, training, scheduling, or supervising a grounds-maintenance team.

- Ability to develop maintenance plans, manage budgets, and maintain accurate operational records.

- Ability to operate and oversee the safe use and maintenance of golf course equipment.

- Knowledge of safe handling practices and applicable environmental and workplace regulations.

- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adjust schedules to meet seasonal course needs.

- Relevant turfgrass, agronomy, or horticulture education or equivalent practical experience preferred.
