Position: Caddie Program Manager | Jackson Park Golf Course - Summer 2026 - On-site
Western Golf Association/ Evans Scholars Foundation
Location: Jackson Park Golf Course(Chicago, IL)
Start Date: Mid-June,2026
End Date: August 2026 (can be flexible)
Compensation: $20-25/hour (30-40 hours/week)
In 2017, the Western Golf Association (WGA) created a caddie program at Jackson Park Golf Course on the South Side of Chicago. Since then, the WGA along with its partner, The First Tee of Greater Chicago, have brought quality youth programming to this course . Local teens participate in this seven-to-eight-week summer program. The participants are provided with the opportunity to caddie, Wednesday through Sunday, and work towards earning an Evans Scholarship.
In addition to earning money, the caddies learn valuable life lessons, such as communication skills and time management.
Position Description
The Jackson Park Program Manager helps to support the current participants throughout the season and plays an integral role in the day-to-day operations of The Jackson Park Caddie Program. This opportunity will requirea high levelof problem-solving skills and collaboration with the WGA/ESF Caddie Development Team, General Manager of Jackson Park Golf Course, the participants.
The individual in this role would be present at Jackson Park Golf Coursetoassistcaddies in real time, on the property. The program manager will provide safety, security, and mentorship to the program as a whole. The program manager serves as mentor to the youth and can answer questions about caddying, developing work ethic , and college aspirations. The program manager will also help facilitate loops for golfers that are playing each day so that these caddies get work on the golf course.
Job Responsibilities
• Underdirectionof Director, Caddie Development, the program manager will support all associated efforts managing the caddie operations at Jackson Park Golf Course.
• Supportstudentsthroughschedulingwork,developmental feedback,andpromotingandmarketingtheir services to the golfers at Jackson Park Golf Course.
• Assist Director, Caddie Development with training of caddies at the start of the season.
• Schedule loop assignments and report times for students, including loop tracking and processing of subsidized base caddiefee, through the Club Up Application and other necessary tracking.
• This includes collecting golfer’s name and email for each personutilizinga caddie.
• Manage andmaintainthe Jackson Park Caddie Programdesignatedemail inbox.
• Maintain open communication with participant sand participants’parents/guardians throughout program.
• Meet with and provide updates to Director, Caddie Development,on a regular basis.
• Promote and encourage teamwork and cooperation among participants.
• Assistintrackingstudentsinthe Caddie Scholar Preppipelineincollectingcaddierounddata , academic progress, applicationpreparationandadditionalsupport in line with established best practices and protocols throughout the season.
• Followupwithstaffat Jackson Park Golf Courseon Caddie Program Developmentandcoordinatecaddies’schedulebasedondemandatthecourse.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring most of the following qualifications:
• Strong belief in and commitment to Evans Scholars Foundation’s mission and vision.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Forms, Sheets, Classroom, etc.) or a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn.
• A drive to meet, understand, and establish genuine relationships within the community, staff, golfers, as well as partner organizations.
• Completion of background check and completion of ESF approved training course on student safety and protocols.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
• Strong writing and presentation skills in individual and group settings.
• Ability to navigate complex relationships and interact comfortably with caddies, parents, golfers, and/or golf professionals and staff.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and lists at once, prioritize best opportunities, and present ideas to internal and external constituents .
• Strong desire to work with students and support their needs including work, academic, and social support .
• Capacity to foster an open and inclusive environment and an appreciation of the diverse backgrounds of our participants to maximize each participant’s individual and collective experience .
• Knowledge and enjoyment of the game of golf would be preferred.
• Willingness to work weekends and late afternoons.
• A valid driver’s license.
Education and/or Experience
• Minimum Requirements:
Current Evans Scholar or Evans Scholar Alum.
• Preferred Requirements:
Relevant experience working with students in a teacher/mentor role (tutor, peer mediator, camp counselor, etc.)
