About the position
The City and County of Denver's Department of Parks and Recreation, Denver Golf, is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Operator to join their team at Evergreen Golf Course. Evergreen Golf Course, located in Denver's Mountain Park system, offers an exceptional 18-hole golf course experience with scenic mountain views and wildlife sightings. The Assistant Golf Course Operator will play a key role in Denver Golf's mission to be a national leader in the golf industry, focusing on accessibility, diversity, environmental stewardship, and building the game for the future. This role involves overseeing daily operations of the Pro Shop, managing merchandising, purchasing, and vendor relations, performing customer service duties, assisting with staff recruitment and training, budget monitoring, coordinating special events, overseeing facility maintenance, and assisting with staff management.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the Evergreen Golf Course Pro ShopMaintain pro shop merchandising, purchasing, and vendor relationsPerform broad-level customer service duties including responding to inquiries and complaints, completing sales and transactions, booking tee times, and ensuring customer retentionAssist with recruiting, hiring, and training of seasonal sales and operations staffAssist with preparing and monitoring the annual budgetOversee and coordinate special events and related activities, including tournaments, leagues, and small group bookingsOversee facility maintenanceAssist with staff management, coaching, and delegationPerform other related duties as assigned by the Head Golf Course OperatorRequirements
Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.Two (2) years of experience in hospitality or retail management.Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.Nice-to-haves
