<p><strong>BRIEF DESCRIPTION</strong></p>
<p>This is a supervisory position that is responsible for daily operations including marketing, sales, cash management, processing of accounts payable, and inventory control. This position is primarily responsible for the management, maintenance and operations of the municipal golf course including food and beverage and Pro Shop operations. As well as, insuring strict compliance with TABC requirements.</p>
<p>This is a working supervisor’s position and will require hands-on assistance in any of the facility areas. Marketing and promotion of play is a critical success indicator of this position.</p>
<p><strong>NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to meet and work with the public in a friendly and courteous manner</li>
<li>Must have a working knowledge of golf course operation, including maintenance, Pro Shop , merchandising and Food/Beverage sales including TABC liquor laws and alcohol sales</li>
<li>Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both orally in writing and convey information in an easily understood manner</li>
<li>Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate the activities of subordinates</li>
<li>Ability to work independently with limited supervision</li>
<li>Ability to budget, implement, and conduct financial analysis on an ongoing basis</li>
<li>Ability to establish and implement goals and objectives</li>
<li>Ability to develop and make presentations</li>
<li>Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management of the golf course operations</li>
<li>Ability to budget the costs of operation; and the ability to coordinate course maintenance and repair</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of the golf industry</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of golf equipment</li>
<li>Ability to provide golf instruction across the age and ability spectrum</li>
<li>Ability to problem solve and to make decisions at administrative and executive level</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p>
<p>High school graduate or equivalent or its equivalent; a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in golf course management with two (2) additional years experience in a supervisory capacity.</p>
<p>OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.</p>
<p><strong>CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED</strong></p>
<p>A Valid Class C Texas driver license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record</p>
<p>Certified Food Handler or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire.</p>
<p>PGA of America Class A preferred.</p>
<p><strong>ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS</strong></p>
<p>Primarily in an indoor environment with the ability to operate outdoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months.</p>
<p><strong>TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED</strong></p>
<p>Standard office equipment including multi-line telephone, computer, fax machine, copier, scanner, printer, etc.</p>
