Overview Head Golf Professional Knollwood Country Club | West Bloomfield, Michigan Knollwood Country Club is a private equity club located in the desirable community of West Bloomfield, Michigan. Knollwood offers a professional environment rooted in tradition, family values, and forward-thinking leadership. The Club features an 18-hole golf course, approximately 15,000 annual rounds, and an active tournament and league schedule. The Club recently completed a comprehensive renovation of its golf course, which reopened in the fall of 2025, as well as a renovation of the clubhouse, which reopened in the spring of 2026. Reporting directly to the Director of Golf, the Head Golf Professional will serve as a key leader within the golf operation and will be responsible for overseeing daily golf operations, tournament operations, Golf Shop operations, staff development, and the consistent delivery of high-quality, member-focused experiences. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated PGA Professional to assume significant leadership responsibilities while continuing to develop toward future senior golf-management opportunities. Experience Required PGA of America Class A Member in good standing.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with members, guests, and staff.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, make decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of service.Experience managing day-to-day golf operations.Experience leading and managing a team of golf professionals, outside services personnel, starters, and Golf Shop staff.Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.Excellent mentoring, training, leadership, and supervisory skills.Experience organizing, promoting, and executing high-level member tournaments and events.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and golf-management technology; experience with Golf Genius, Jonas, and ForeTees preferred.In-depth knowledge of the game of golf, Rules of Golf, and proper golf etiquette. Essential Responsibilities Manage club tournament operations utilizing Golf Genius, including event setup, registration, pairings, scoring, results, and communication.Assist with Golf Shop operations, including merchandise receiving, member billing, special orders, inventory organization, and maintaining a high standard of presentation.Oversee the day-to-day execution of the golf operation, including the Golf Shop, outside services, practice facilities, and driving range.Plan, promote, and execute high-level member events, including Men's Golf Association events, Ladies Golf Association events, club championships, and other Club events.Train, mentor, supervise, and develop golf staff, including assistant golf professionals, supervisors, starters, Golf Shop staff, and outside services personnel.Enforce golf course policies and procedures while maintaining standards for safety, pace of play, member service, and overall golf experience.Manage the ForeTees tee-sheet reservation system and Golf Genius tournament software.Provide exceptional service, professional advice, and assistance to members and guests while maintaining a highly visible and approachable presence throughout the golf operation.Work closely with the Director of Golf to ensure consistent execution of the Club's standards and overall vision for the golf operation.Provide individual and group instruction, junior golf programming, clinics, club fitting, and player-development opportunities.Provide club fitting and club repair services to effectively serve member needs.Winter responsibilities include golf simulator management, preparation for the upcoming tournament season, Golf Shop preparation, staff planning, and other offseason golf operations.
