Director of Golf

Bloom Golf Management is seeking a motivated, experienced, and hands-on Director of Golf to oversee daily golf operations at Oak Knoll Country Club.

The Director of Golf will be responsible for golf shop management, outside golf operations, staffing, tee sheet management, tournament operations, and delivering an exceptional golfer experience.

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who understands the importance of customer service, revenue management, staff accountability, and efficient daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Golf Shop Operations

- Oversee all daily golf shop activities, including golfer check-in, point-of-sale transactions, and retail operations.

- Manage golf shop inventory, merchandising, purchasing, and sales.

- Ensure accurate cash handling, daily reporting, and financial controls.

- Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming golf shop environment.

Tee Sheet & Revenue Management

- Manage daily tee sheet operations to maximize utilization and revenue.

- Monitor tee time availability, booking patterns, cancellations, and pace of play.

- Ensure proper application of rates, discounts, and golf policies.

- Coordinate with management on pricing strategies, promotions, and revenue opportunities.

Outside Golf Operations & Guest Services

- Direct all outside golf operations, including bag drop, golf car staging, practice facilities, and guest services.

- Ensure golf cars are clean, properly maintained, and available for daily operations.

- Supervise daily course setup, starting procedures, and pace-of-play management.

- Maintain consistent service standards throughout the golfer experience.

Staff Leadership & Development

- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise golf shop and outside operations employees.

- Establish clear responsibilities and performance expectations.

- Manage staffing levels and payroll expenses in accordance with approved budgets.

- Promote a positive, professional, and accountable team culture.

- Implement Bloom Golf Management's operating procedures and guest service standards.

Tournament & Outing Operations

- Plan, coordinate, and execute club tournaments, member events, and outside golf outings.

- Manage tournament registrations, pairings, scoring, golf car assignments, and event logistics.

- Work with food and beverage staff to coordinate event requirements.

- Develop relationships with tournament organizers and identify opportunities for additional event revenue.

Financial & Operational Accountability

- Assist in developing and managing departmental operating budgets.

- Monitor golf shop sales, rounds, average revenue per round, payroll, and operating expenses.

- Review operational performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve efficiency.

- Maintain accurate operating reports and provide regular updates to management.

Qualifications

- Previous golf course operations management experience required.

- Strong understanding of golf shop operations, tee sheet management, tournament administration, and outside services.

- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold employees accountable.

- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

- Proficiency with golf course point-of-sale and tee sheet management systems.

- PGA membership or progress toward PGA membership preferred.

- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak golf operating hours.
