The Golf Club of Avon Department: Golf Operations Position Type: Seasonal / Part-Time Reports To: Head Golf Professional and Golf Professional Staff Position Summary The Golf Club of Avon is seeking a dependable, service-oriented Golf Attendant to support daily golf operations. This is an entirely outdoor position that requires regular availability during weekday daytime hours. The Golf Attendant plays an important role in providing an exceptional experience for members and guests. Responsibilities include caring for member golf bags, preparing and maintaining golf carts, operating the practice range, assisting members upon arrival and departure, and keeping all assigned golf service areas organized and presentable. Pay is hourly minimum wage plus tips. Essential Responsibilities The Golf Attendant will: Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner.Retrieve, stage, clean, and properly store member golf bags.Load and unload golf bags from vehicles and golf carts.Prepare golf carts for daily use, including cleaning, charging, stocking, and staging carts.Return carts to the designated area following play and inspect them for cleanliness, damage, and personal belongings.Maintain the practice range by collecting, cleaning, and distributing range balls throughout the day.Keep bag storage, cart staging, practice facilities, and surrounding golf service areas clean and orderly.Assist members with golf equipment and other reasonable golf-related requests.Communicate member needs, cart concerns, course issues, and operational questions to the Golf Professional Staff.Follow all Club procedures relating to golf cart safety, equipment handling, and member service.Assist with tournaments, outings, clinics, and other golf events as assigned.Complete opening, closing, and daily operational duties accurately and on time.Perform other golf operation duties as directed by the Head Golf Professional or Golf Professional Staff.Schedule and Availability Candidates must have reliable availability during weekday daytime hours. The schedule may include mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, tournaments, and special events based on the needs of the Club. This is a seasonal, outdoor position. Employees should be prepared to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, light rain, and humidity. Qualifications The ideal candidate will: Be dependable, punctual, and prepared for each scheduled shift.Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong commitment to member service.Communicate professionally with members, guests, supervisors, and coworkers.Be able to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.Remain attentive and productive during both busy and slower periods.Treat member property and Club equipment with care.Follow instructions and respond appropriately to changing operational needs.Have reliable transportation to and from work.Possess basic knowledge of golf or a willingness to learn.Previous experience in golf operations, hospitality, athletics, or customer service is helpful but not required.Physical Requirements The position requires the ability to: Work outdoors for the duration of the scheduled shift.Stand and walk for extended periods.Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift.Regularly lift and carry golf bags and other items weighing approximately 40 pounds or more.Safely operate golf carts, range equipment, and other approved Club equipment.Perform physical duties in changing weather conditions.Service Expectations Golf Attendants are expected to provide prompt, courteous, and professional service at all times. Employees must maintain a neat appearance, remain visible and available to assist members, and take initiative in keeping assigned areas clean and properly prepared. Because this position regularly handles member equipment and Club property, honesty, responsibility, attention to detail, and good judgment are essential.
